Iranian and Pakistani Presidents Discuss Bilateral Ties and Security Challenges

Iran (IMNA) – Zardari congratulated Raeisi, the Iranian government, and the Iranian people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. He pledged to maintain Pakistan’s close collaboration with Iran in areas of mutual interest and further enhance their bilateral relations. Zardari also highlighted the importance of increasing information exchange to tackle the shared security challenges faced by both countries.

Pakistani President Invites Iranian Counterpart for a Visit, Condemns Israeli Actions

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari extended an invitation to Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi to visit Pakistan during their conversation. Zardari also conveyed his condolences and sympathy to the Iranian government and the families affected by the Israeli regime’s attack on the Iranian embassy’s consular section in Damascus.

Expressing concern over the humanitarian crisis and the ongoing genocide of Palestinians by Israeli occupying forces, Zardari urged for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. In response, President Raeisi highlighted the potential and capabilities that Iran and Pakistan possess to expand their interactions, hoping they would contribute to the growth of bilateral ties.

Raeisi also praised the resilience and courage of the Islamic Ummah’s youth in rejecting various seditions, including ISIL’s, and emphasized that efforts to divide Iran and Pakistan are driven by domination-seeking powers. He called for enhanced cooperation in combating terrorism, thwarting enemies’ intentions, and fostering friendship between Tehran and Islamabad.
