Alborz Regional Water Company Director General said: Although the outlet of Karaj Dam was reopened after a few days with the efforts of engineers and technical groups, desalination of the Karaj River takes some time.

Najafian stated: Following the flood on June 18, the technical and engineering teams of the Ministry of Energy, the Alborz Regional Water Company, with the help of the technical and engineering teams of the army, the IRGC, and the Karaj municipality immediately took action, and the machines were transported from inaccessible roads to the mouth. The outlet of the dam was transferred.

He added: Since the Karaj Dam plays an effective role in supplying drinking water to Tehran and Alborz, the technical and engineering groups paved the way for water transfer to Tehran and Karaj treatment plants by opening the outlet of the dam.

Appreciating the residents of the Karaj River and the technical assistance forces of the Army, IRGC, Karaj Municipality and the Ministry of Energy, he said: Some residents of this river provided their lands to the Ministry of Energy to transfer the water from the Karaj Dam and even provided personal machines for the work. brought.

Najafian stated: The height of the sediment in a part of the Karaj River has reached over three meters, and this situation is considered an obstacle to the transfer of water downstream.

He said: More than seven kilometers of the Karaj River has large sediments that must be completely cleaned.

The Managing Director of the Alborz Regional Water Company stated that in the days after the opening of the Karaj Dam water outlet, we saw the water being muddy, and stated: These waters are used for drinking more than 12 thousand hectares of garden and agricultural lands downstream of the river. has been employed.

Najafian said: Now, along with the cleaning of the Karaj River, the plan to secure this water source is being implemented to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents. Next week, water will be released in a part of the main route of the Karaj River.

In another part of his speech, Najafian pointed to the allocation of 55 million cubic meters of water from Taleghan and Karaj dams to Alborz province in the past 2 years and said: Now, various plans have been implemented to absorb this quota in Alborzba.

He added: on the same basis, the Alborz province comprehensive water plan was implemented in the 13th government with an estimate of more than seven thousand billion tomans, the first part of this plan in the west of the province with water supply to the cities of Nazarabad, Eshtehard and Saujblag with a credit amounting to one thousand billion tomans. Action is underway.

The CEO of Alborz Regional Water Company said: This summer, a part of this project will be opened with water supply to Eshtehard and Nazarabad.

He reminded: In the implementation of Alborz Water Supply Comprehensive Plan, a 30-year vision has been drawn and this province will benefit from sustainable water resources by 1430.

Najafian said: In addition to the implementation of the Alborz water supply comprehensive plan, the construction of several water treatment plants and the creation of a water transmission and distribution network are planned.

The CEO of Alborz Regional Water Company stated that now 75% of the drinking water of the people of Alborz is supplied from wells and said: Accordingly, five artificial feeding plans for underground aquifers have been implemented in this province, most of them including in Fardis. , Hashtgerd, Nazarabad and Karaj have been put into operation.

The flood of June 18 of this month caused the destruction of a part of the Karaj-Chalus road and blocked this road, while the transfer of sediments into the outlet of the Karaj dam caused it to collapse and cut off water in some areas of Tehran-Karaj.

19 people were injured in this accident and more than 50 vehicles were damaged, and according to reports, 2 people are still missing. Also, the destruction of 2 restaurants and a rural residential unit are among its other damages.
